This bean ranked #30 out of over 1,800 coffees submitted for Cup of Excellence 2021 -- an annual international competition among coffee growers to determine who produces the best coffee, which was held in Ethiopia last summer.
The high "national winner" ranking brings well-deserved recognition and reward to Assefa Dukale Wakayo, a family-owned coffee business from Bensa. As a result, this lot of coffee was sold for over $60 per pound at the COE auction (and that price does not include export, roasting labor, or packaging costs!) but because of Zabuni's connection with the source we are pleased to be able to share a small portion of this lot with our customers for much less. Get it while it lasts -- quantities are limited!
